has anyone ever tried to arrange the girly sound songs according to how they could play out if it was a story. i find the collection of songs very.... umm... what's the word? brilliant? yes. but like a novel.. i tried doing it but then the new songs arrived and wow, thank you. i threw that cd r away though. so anyone? i guess, it doesn't make sense because the third tape is still out there... somewhere.. in the dustbin.

by the way, i was stealing mp3s from the mintyfresh label website and liz's artist entry, bio said that liz decided to record the carnivore 7" for mintyfresh, collaborating with another label (now gone) which didn't think much of liz's talents. i'm guessing, this was simple machines (not matador, because matador is still up). simple machines was the label headed by jenny toomey, right? and i remember a song by tsunami (toomey's former band) in the brilliant mistake lp about the narrator not being a songwriter with a blowjob queen modus operandi. what a bihotch that fat lesbo is. tsk. anyway, mintyfresh ended the artist thing saying that liz is still around doing her thang and the label is long gone. har di har.

ps:
one can get free mp3s from the mintyfresh.com website by streaming the albums they have in the bazaar section and then going to the temporary internet folder, getting those songs, copying them to another folder. hee hee. the mp3s for the carnivore single were mint.  i recommend you stream beangrowers- dance dance baby. that album reminded me of liz, kind of. weird. but seeing you all are moralists, you probably would contact the website admin and warn them about this sad oversight.

doesn't matter, already got half of what they're selling. le huh?

weirder, there's a simple machines forum banner. is the forum affiliated with that label?

The minty fresh website is here.

Here is the navigation:
 1) Click on artists button at the top.
 2) The artists appear on the left hand side.  You'll need to use the down arrow to scroll down to "Liz Phair".
 3) There are three tabs for the artist.  The gives the explanation.
 4) When you click on the tab for Albums & mp3s, you will a square for Carnivore/Carnivore (Raw).  Click on the square.
 5) You have the two versions of Carnivore.  They're selling the songs for $0.99.

As FUB indicates, you can "sample" the entire song by hitting the play button, but it downloads into your cache.

These guys seem reasonable.  Please, go ahead and buy the songs if you like them.

I didn't see a pointer to a message board for them.

What was interesting to me was that I didn't have the raw version of Carnivore before.  I've been playing that side-by-side with Jeremy Engle's version of Carnivore Raw.  Interesting serendipity about FUB posting the minty fresh thing soon after Jeremy Engle's upload of Carnivore.  Here is the link back to the post at LP Forum.

I had heard the song before, but this was one of those Liz Phair songs that you have to play a few times to get to grow on you--I think it's really cool now.
