About 3-4 weeks ago, my wife picked up a puppy from the pet store, the same time that our daughter got a new puppy.

When my wife took the puppy in to see a vet, they did an initial checkover of him and told her bad news.  Their term is PDA, but it means a heart murmur.  On a scale of 1-6, the puppy comes in at a 4, which is pretty bad.  If we do nothing, the puppy has about one year to live.

If the puppy was returned to the breeders, they would simply put the puppy to sleep.

We're going to try to save the pup.

My wife takes him to a vet cardiologist today to try to get it fixed.

The puppy passed away last night.  With the hole in his heart, we knew that we might only have him for a short time.

I'm a wreck.

He will be missed.

We got a replacement puppy named Kirby later on the same week.

Sammy,  the Puppy, will never be forgotten.
