I spend a fair amount of my time these days on twitter and plurk.

One of my new friends has lupus and it is destroying her body.  She's lost weight and has been told that she may just survive to her next birthday.

It's just a horrible thing and everyone feels really bad.  What do you say to someone who you know is probably going to die and there's nothing that you can really do to stop it or help?

I'm really at a loss.
