Lana Del Rey is really worth a listen. While the music itself - and even the lyrics - are reminiscent of the eponymous album as opposed to Guyville, the overall feeling of the album is eerily Guyville. I never thought that naked, helpless feeling of first listening to Guyville could ever be be genuinely relived - but this album (Born To Die) simply has it.

Like Liz says in the article, Lana is a raw woman speaking the raw truth - at least hear her out.

I'll give Liz credit for bringing her support to Lana Del Rey.

My only nitpick was that the piece seemed too much about Liz and not enough about Lana.  I still thought it was interesting and a must read.

It is unfortunate that it came out the weekend that SNL did a bit on Weekend Update with Kristen Wiig doing Lana Del Rey in support of herself.  If people really remember the controversy regarding Lana Del Rey, they will likely first think of the Kristen Wiig bit, which was pretty funny and dealt with the subject showing how ridiculous the criticism was.

Of course, most of this has been forgotten in the aftermath of the death of Whitney Houston.  If you want to read something about music the last couple of weeks, all you're going to see is the coverage of everything Whitney.  The death of Whitney was a horrible tragedy.

I am myself planning to purchase Lana Del Rey's album.  It is difficult these days to buy albums as most of the old record stores have closed.  I don't think the local places that are still left are selling the album.  Possibly Best Buy, but I now hate going over to Best Buy to shop.  They've really cut their selection down and their attitude towards customers is the worst it has ever been.

I'm planning to purchase the physical CD from amazon.com or one of the other online record stores.
